I've been on Twitter now for 5 months. I started my account because I had just published my book Black Numbers, and I wanted to network with other authors, readers, and people in the entertainment industry. I had no idea what Twitter would truly be like though, and how wonderful it is as a medium to connect with people who are amazing.
One such amazing connection I made was with @PromoteHorror, who runs a great website promoting horror movies, books, and art. @PromoteHorror has always been fun to tweet with, and I've enjoyed our friendship. But today I was surprised and honored to find out that they featured my book Black Numbers on their site PromoteHorror. It is amazing!
So if you are not on Twitter yet, join up today and start networking with people. If I hadn't, I would not have met @PromoteHorror, or any of the amazing people that I've come to know on Twitter.
Cheers,
Dean Lappi
I've made great friends too Dean, one of them being you. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great connection you've made with @promotehorror! I am also new to Twitter (in use) and am finding wonderful connections.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. It's bizarre to think about half of my actual friends are online and I've never met them. But they ARE friends. We keep in touch by twitter, email, facebook, and sometimes even voice chat. They support me, help me out, and calm me down when I'm getting too stressed out. Except for the fact I don't see them the once or twice a year I see my offline friends, what's the difference?
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone, and my apologies for answering your comments so VERY late. I let time get away from me. Thank you for your kind comments, and for taking time out of your own very busy days to respond. Hope you are all doing well. Kind regards. Dean
